During his twenty-year diplomatic service\, Consul General Newman accumulated vast experience in policy formulation and decision-making at the highest levels of Israel’s foreign policy establishment. He has served in several infuential and critical positions including Policy Advisor to three Foreign Ministers of Israel and Ambassador of Israel to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. \nConsul General Newman made Aliyah with his family from South Africa\, served as a medic in the IDF and is married to Ayala.  The couple have a ten-year-old son\, Ram.
